Privacy Policy

Vistory ("we," "us") is operated by Vistory App LLC. This policy explains what information the Vistory mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what the app needs to work and never sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Account information — your email address and display name, used to create and secure your account. Authentication is handled by Supabase; you may also sign in with Apple or Google.
Location — your device location is used to detect when you are near a historical marker so the app can unlock collectible icons. Location is processed for proximity detection and is not used for advertising. You can disable location access in your device settings, though marker collection by GPS will not function without it.
Camera — used only to scan QR codes at markers and partner locations. Vistory does not store photographs.
Activity data — markers collected, groups, trips, themes, achievements, points, streaks, and trivia responses, used to provide the app's core features.
Purchase data — when you subscribe or buy an in-app item, the transaction is processed by Apple or Google. We receive subscription status (tier, renewal, expiration) through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
Identifiers — an account ID and a device identifier used by RevenueCat to manage your subscriptions and entitlements across sessions. These are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

How we use information

To operate core features: marker discovery, collections, groups, themes, trips, trivia, leaderboards, streaks, and achievements.
To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.
To keep the service secure and to diagnose problems.

Service providers

We share limited data with providers that help us run Vistory:

Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play — subscription and in-app purchase processing.
Mapbox — maps and location display.
Anthropic — generates trivia questions from marker content and powers the in-app assistant (Scout). When you chat with Scout, the text you type is sent to Anthropic to generate a reply; we do not send your personal identity, and Scout’s replies are not shared with other users.

Data retention

We retain account and activity data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), or by emailing us.

Children

Vistory is rated 13+ on the App Store and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

Control location and camera permissions in your device settings.
Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
Request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
